Quintet Earn CSC At-Large Academic All-District Recognition

Oskaloosa--Five individuals from different William Penn male athletic programs were honored for strong 2024-2025 seasons in and out of the classroom as they earned At-Large academic all-district honors from College Sports Communicators.

Men's lacrosse player Breck Putzier (Sr., Minneapolis, Minn., Exercise Science) topped the crew with 3.95 Grade Point Average following the 2025 spring semester.

Men's bowler Bryce Keykal (Sr., Princeton, Minn., Secondary Education) was next at 3.74, while men's volleyball players Joao Gabriel Filippelli (So., Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Business Management) (3.61) and Britten Beallis (Jr., Naperville, Ill., Sports Management) (3.55), as well as men's golfer Francois Assaud (Sr., Montelimar, France, Sports Management) (3.50), also met the criteria.

Putzier, now a two-time recipient, was an NAIA First-Team All-American.  Beallis, who was a two-time Second-Team All-American (NAIA and AVCA) this season, and Keykal, a USBC Singles Nationals qualifier, are also two-time honorees.

Filippelli garnered a second-team all-Heart of America Athletic Conference award, while Assaud was a letterwinner who tallied seven top-20 finishes.  The duo both received their first academic all-district accolades.

The award combines both athletic and academic achievements.  To be eligible for the award, individuals must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have been enrolled at the nominating institution for one year (transfers use grades from their previous institution), and have a 3.50 Grade Point Average.  Additional competition criteria is also required.
