Statesmen of the Week: Brody Brisker and Kayla Peoples

Statesmen of the Week: Brody Brisker and Kayla Peoples

Oskaloosa--Brody Brisker (Fr., Wilton, Iowa, Sports Management) and Kayla Peoples (Sr., Waco, Texas, Nursing) have been named the Statesmen of the Week for the week of January 19-25.

Brisker posted a 6-0 record to win the 149-pound weight class at the Missouri Valley Invitational last Saturday.  In a bracket that featured several nationally-ranked wrestlers, the freshman won twice by major decision while also collecting a technical-fall victory.  All of the individuals he defeated owned a winning record.

Peoples opened her week with 17 points on 7-for-14 shooting (2-for-4 3-PT) against Grand View last Wednesday.  She then tallied 12 points versus Clarke last Saturday.  Additionally, the senior accumulated seven rebounds, five steals, and two assists for William Penn.
