Statesmen of the Week: Keena Taylor and Esther Kolawole

Oskaloosa--Keena Taylor (Fr., St. Petersburg, Fla., Business Management) and Esther Kolawole (So., Akure, Nigeria, Kinesiology) have been named the Statesmen of the Week for the week of February 2-8.

Taylor delivered a record-breaking performance at the Northwest Missouri State Bearcat Invite Friday, finishing second in the 200-meter dash with a new school-record time of 21.61 seconds. His mark also secured a 'B' standard qualification for the NAIA Championships in Florida. Additionally, Taylor placed 18th in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.92 seconds.

Kolawole played a key role in the women's wrestling team's second-place finish at the For Her Duals Sunday. She opened the event with a 10-0 technical fall in a 30-11 team victory over Indiana Tech. In a 25-17 win against Ottawa, she added a 10-0 technical fall. Facing No. 1 Life, Kolawole earned another 10-0 technical fall over top-ranked Zaynah McBryde to help secure a 23-20 team triumph. She capped the tournament with an 8-0 decision in the championship dual against Iowa.
