Katrana, Burt Named April Players of the Month

Oskaloosa--The William Penn University Athletics Booster Club has announced its April Players of the Month.

Men's lacrosse player Garrett Katrana (So., Parker, Colo., Industrial Technology) earned the male honor, while women's track and field athlete Phoebe Burt (Sr., Coralville, Iowa, Sociology) was selected as the female recipient.  The award is the first for both individuals.

Katrana, who had missed several games due to injury, returned with a vengeance.  In seven contests (WPU went 5-2), the sophomore tallied 10 goals with 42 assists for 52 total points.  He also managed 13 ground balls and four caused turnovers.

Katrana's month was highlighted by producing 15 assists against Missouri Valley on April 7.  The 15 assists set a new single-game collegiate record (all levels).

Burt competed in four separate meets during April, headlined by throwing for a new school record of 150-5 in the discus at the Indiana State Gibson Invitational on April 18.  The toss also met the 'B' qualifying standard with the performance.

Additionally, the senior placed in the top three on four other occasions in the events of discus, shot put (high of 42-0.75), and hammer throw (high of 124-7).
