Bio

Natasha Schmitter, MSM, ATC, LAT, is in her eighth year as an assistant in the Sports Medicine department. She works primarily with women’s volleyball, men’s wrestling, and men’s lacrosse.

Prior to her time at WPU, Schmitter worked at Graceland University from 2013-2016.  She then took time away from the profession and worked at Cambridge Investment Research from 2016-2019.

A 2025 graduate of William Penn with a Master's of Sports Management degree, Schmitter graduated in 2010 from Western Illinois University with a degree in Kinesiology centered in Athletic Training. She has additional experience working in physical therapy clinics, high school outreach, and within an orthopedic surgeon’s office.

Schmitter has been Athletic Trainer Board Certified since 2010 and is a member of the National Athletic Trainer's Association (NATA). She also lends her time to state, district, and national athletic training organizations. She was a member of the Career Advancement Committee for the Iowa Athletic Trainers' Society (IATS) from 2021-2023 and is currently on the Honors and Awards Committee since 2023 and the Chair for the Connection and Engagement Committee since 2026. Schmitter is a member of the Mid-America Athletics Trainers Association (MAATA) Scholarship Committee since 2024 and an NAIA Panel member for the Intercollegiate Council for Sports Medicine (ICSM) of NATA since 2025.

A native of Wayland, Iowa, Schmitter resides in Oskaloosa with her two daughters, Amelia and Jocelyn.
