Jones Named CSC Academic All-District
Oskaloosa--Roy Jones III (Jr., Pensacola, Fla., Psychology) was honored for a strong 2024-2025 season in and out of the classroom as he earned men's basketball academic all-district honors from College Sports Communicators Tuesday.
Jones, who entered the spring semester with a 3.55 Grade Point Average, closed out his hardwood campaign by averaging 7.9 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game. He also notched 49 steals and two blocks, while shooting 38.9% from the field (35.4 3-PT) and 72.9% from the free-throw line.
The junior notched 11 double-digit performances, headlined by a 25-point effort against MidAmerica Nazarene on February 2.
The award combines both athletic and academic achievements. To be eligible for the award, individuals must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have been enrolled at the nominating institution for one year (transfers use grades from their previous institution), and have a 3.50 Grade Point Average. Additionally, individuals must compete in 90% of games or start in at least 66% of games.
