Under new leadership, the Statesmen men's bowling team is seeking to remain a major player on the conference and national level as it enters the 2025-2026 campaign.
Kirstin Foster, who also heads the women's squad, has taken the reins of the men's program. WPU placed second in the Heart of America Athletic Conference a year ago.
Reigning Heart Player of the Year Aidan Piet (Jr., Meridian, Idaho, Business Management) will guide the crew after averaging 211.2 pins per game in 2024-2025.
Fellow first-team all-Heart performer Noah Kidwell (Jr., Bettendorf, Iowa, Mechanical Engineering) is also back. He averaged 194.8 pins as a sophomore.
Carter Boley (Sr., Grimes, Iowa, Exercise Science), with a 190.7 mark, leads the rest of the returners who also include Ethan Licht (So., Victor, Iowa, Sports Management) (188.9), Ethan Zieglowsky (Sr., Washington, Iowa, Biology) (185.2), and Brock Alderson (So., Sigourney, Iowa, Biology) (182.4).
Newcomers Gavin Broussard (Fr., Durant, Iowa, Software Engineering and Mathematics), Lucas Newman (Sr., Bloomington, Minn., Information Technology), and Gavin Unger (Fr., Columbus, Neb., Engineering Technology) are expected to play big roles this season as well.
The Statesmen start the year Saturday and Sunday at the Five Seasons Classic in Cedar Rapids.
The navy and gold will make their annual trip to Las Vegas in December for a pair of tournaments, while the regular season concludes at the Hoosier Classic in February.
