Alton, Ill.--Spencer Tucker (Sr., Oskaloosa, Iowa, Sports Management) claimed silver as the William Penn men's golf team finished in the top five at the Missouri Baptist Invitational Monday and Tuesday.

The Statesmen placed fifth out of 13 teams with a two-round score of 632 (322-310) at the par-72 Spencer T. Olin Golf Course.  Iowa Central CC won the event at 614 (312-302) with Justin Schipper topping the individual standings at 145 (71-74).

Tucker was in the mix, carding a 149 (75-74) to take second out of 71 players.

Austin Hafner (Jr., Oskaloosa, Iowa, Sports Management) was also in the top 20, tying for 19th with a score of 157 (83-74).

Jonathan Jarvis (Sr., Burlington, Iowa, Business Management) was next for the navy and gold at 160 (81-79) to tie for 26th.

Cameron Johnson (Sr., Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Business Management) finished with a score of 172 (89-83) to place 63rd, while Bailey Johnston (So., Hastings, Minn., Business Management) shot an 83 on Monday.  Johnston unfortunately withdrew from competition during the second round.

"This was a great opportunity for our players to refine their game before the conference tournament," said Head Coach Elise Warne.  "Spencer had another good tournament, while Jon was also consistent.  Austin Hafner had a great second round as well.  Overall, I am proud of their performance as a team, finishing high in a tight leaderboard."

Next Up: William Penn travels to Moravia next Monday and Tuesday to compete in the Heart of America Athletic Conference Championship.  Play will be contested at The Preserve Golf Course.
