WPU Drops to No. 16 in Fifth Rating
Oskaloosa--The Statesmen men's soccer team's recent struggles forced it out of the top 10 as the NAIA released its fifth top-25 poll Wednesday.
WPU (8-4-4, 6-3-3 Heart) is now 16th with 244 points. It marks the 24th poll in a row in which the navy and gold are ranked in the top 25.
Five Heart of America Athletic Conference programs are now in the rating with No. 2 MidAmerica Nazarene guiding the quintet. Grand View is also ranked at No. 13, while Baker (34th) and Central Methodist (36th) are also recognized in the receiving votes section.
Oklahoma Wesleyan is again No. 1 with 504 points and 14 first-place votes. Keiser (Fla.) is third, while Bethel (Ind.) and Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) are fourth and fifth, respectively, to round out the top five.
WPU remains in Oskaloosa Saturday to host Grand View in Heart play at 7 p.m.
