Meijide Earns Offensive POW Award

Oskaloosa--Matias Meijide (Grad., Brunete, Spain, Master's of Organizational Leadership) tallied a pair of game-winners last week, and his efforts led him to the Heart of America Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week award, presented by WinWon Technologies.

Meijide claimed his first career honor by lifting William Penn to a pair of victories last week.  The wins helped secure a home Heart Championship Quarterfinal game for the Statesmen.

The graduate student opened the week by scoring on a penalty kick in WPU's 2-1 triumph over Park last Tuesday.  Both of his shots in the victory were on goal.

Four days later versus Grand View, he managed the day's first score.  It was one of a team-best three shots on Saturday.

For the year, Meijide has four goals along with one assist.  Three of his goals have been of the game-winning variety.

The award is the first of the year for WPU.
