Bio

Joe Minton is in his second year as Head Men’s Soccer Coach.

In his first year at the helm, Minton led William Penn to a 12-6-4 record (7-3-3 Heart) (.636), including advancing to the NAIA National Championship Quarterfinals.  He guided five players to all-Heart of America Athletic Conference recognition, while seven garnered NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors.

Minton, who was a graduate assistant coach for two years and an assistant for three years before being promoted to head coach, graduated from William Penn in 2020 with a degree in Sports Management. As a three-year member of the men’s soccer program, he helped the Statesmen to a school-record 15 wins in 2019 and their first-ever NAIA national tournament appearance. Minton was a Second-Team Academic All-American at WPU as well.

As a graduate assistant, Minton helped in the recruitment of five future all-conference players.

After his time at William Penn, Minton also competed for the Cedar Rapids Inferno of the UPSL.

A team captain as a prep for Staffordshire County School from 2015-2017 and helped the squad to the national tournament final. He also played for the England School Boys and England College teams in 2016 and 2017, respectively.

A native of Stoke-on-Trent, England, Minton, who earned his Master’s of Sports Management from WPU in 2022, currently owns FA Coaching Level 1 and 2 certifications.
