West Claims USTFCCCA Honor

Oskaloosa--Xzavion West (Sr., Guthrie, Ky., Psychology) used his sweep of league throwing crowns to be named the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association NAIA National Athlete of the Week, announced Monday.

West rolled to a trio of titles at the Heart of America Athletic Conference Championship last Friday and Saturday.  The senior took the discus at 150-4, the shot put at 53-0.25, and the hammer throw at 203-5.

He earned the honor for Most Points Scored (30) at the Championship, and later earned the Heart's Field Athlete of the Meet accolade.

The weekly award from USTFCCCA is the second for WPU this year.
