NAIA Scholar-Athlete Honors to Seven WPU Individuals
Oskaloosa--A total of seven William Penn men's track and field athletes were honored for their excellence in the classroom as they were named 2025-2026 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
Sutton Shively (So., Bloomfield, Iowa, Mechanical Engineering) and Carson Springer (Jr., Grimes, Iowa, Business Management) are guiding the squad with perfect 4.0 Grade Point Averages.
Andrew Miller (Jr., Le Claire, Iowa, Exercise Science) is closely behind the duo with a 3.96 GPA, while Gavin Huff (Jr., Mascoutah, Ill., Mechanical Engineering) is also above 3.8 at 3.82.
Jordan Davis (Sr., Loomis, Calif., Political Science) leads the remaining Statesmen at 3.69, while Grant Hein (Jr., Durant, Iowa, General Accounting) (3.66) and Frederick Kolla Nguimdo (Jr., Wheaton, Md., Secondary Education) (3.51) also meet the criteria.
Miller and Springer's award are their third, while Hein is now a two-time recipient. Davis, Huff, Kolla Nguimdo, and Shively are all first-time honorees.
To be eligible for the award, athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale, have attended the nominating institution for one full year prior to nomination, and must appear on the sport's eligibility paperwork.
