Three Rated Nationally for Statesmen
Oskaloosa--Branson Bottorff (Sr., Mackinaw, Ill., Industrial Technology) has rejoined the ranks of nationally-rated Statesmen men's wrestlers as the NAIA released its fifth set of polls this week.
Cameron Hargrove (Sr., Bolingbrook, Ill., Sports Management) leads WPU as he is 14th at 165 pounds. Bottorff, ranked for the first time since the preseason poll, has jumped up to 17th at 184 pounds. Lane Scorpil (Jr., Columbus Junction, Iowa, Business Management) remains ranked as well, holding at 23rd at 133 pounds.
William Penn is now 34th with 27 points, while Grand View is No. 1 in the NAIA with 298 points. Life (Ga.) (233), Southeastern (Fla.) (202), Cumberlands (Ky.) (187), and Embry-Riddle (Fla.) (185) round out the top five.
WPU continues to be seventh in the Heart of America Athletic Conference with 61 points. GVU retains the top position in the league with 234 points.
Hargrove is third in the Heart at his weight class, while Scorpil is fourth. Bottorff and 174-pounder Ryan Van Donselaar (Sr., Otley, Iowa, Exercise Science) are both fifth, while 141-pounder Carson Jensen (Jr., Idaho Falls, Idaho, Exercise Science) is seventh.
