Brisker Enters National Ranking in NAIA’s Sixth Set of Polls
Oskaloosa--Courtesy of last week's title, Brody Brisker (Fr., Wilton, Iowa, Sports Management) now represents the William Penn men's wrestling team nationally as the NAIA released its sixth set of polls this week.
Brisker is rated 13th in the country at 149 pounds, helping the Statesmen to 41st overall with 14 points. It is the first time the freshman has been ranked this season.
Life (Ga.) is the new No. 1 with 261 points, while Grand View is now second with 257 points. Southeastern (Fla.) (221), Indiana Tech (180), and Oklahoma City (170) round out the top five.
The navy and gold are 10th in the Heart of America Athletic Conference with 32 points; GVU leads the standings (228 points).
Brisker tops WPU in third place, while 133-pounder Lane Scorpil (Sr., Columbus Junction, Iowa, Business Management) is eighth. The duo of 125-pounder Gentry Walston (So., New Sharon, Iowa, Human Resource Management) and 184-pounder LaDainian Gordon (Jr., Centennial, Colo., Nursing) are both ninth at their respective weights.
