Brisker Tops Statesmen as Team Enters Postseason
Oskaloosa--The William Penn men's wrestling team has four individuals in the conference rating leading into postseason competition as the NAIA released its final set of rankings this week.
Brody Brisker (Fr., Wilton, Iowa, Sports Management) accounts for WPU's 14 national points (team is tied for 39th) as he is ranked 13th at 149 pounds.
Grand View returns to No. 1 in the country with 260 points, while Life (Ga.) (256), Southeastern (Fla.) (229), Oklahoma City (172), and Indiana Tech (164) complete the top five.
William Penn is 11th in the Heart of America Athletic Conference with 34.5 points; GVU holds the top spot with 224 points.
Brisker is third in the league at his weight class, while 184-pounder LaDainian Gordon (Jr., Centennial, Colo., Nursing) is eighth. 125-pounder Gentry Walston (So., New Sharon, Iowa, Human Resource Management) and 133-pounder Lane Scorpil (Sr., Columbus Junction, Iowa, Business Management) are both sitting ninth at their respective weights.
