Parton Places Fifth as Statesmen Close Regular Season

Pella, Iowa-- The William Penn men's wrestling team closed out its regular season Friday, sending a small group of wrestlers to compete at the Central Last Chance Invitational.

Ryan Parton (Jr., Macedon, N.Y., Industrial Engineering) led the way for the Statesmen, earning a fifth-place finish with a 2-1 record. In his two victories, Parton secured a pair of pinfalls, sticking his first opponent in 1:28 before adding another fall in 2:07.

Luis Garza (Fr., Pharr, Texas, Exercise Science) also represented the navy and gold, earning a dominant 21-6 technical fall victory in his outing.

Up Next: William Penn will now turn its attention to hosting the Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament on Friday and Saturday, with action set to begin at 1 p.m. on Friday.
