The William Penn men's cross country team will feature a young, but hungry roster as it goes to battle in 2025.
Head Coach Caleb Drake, now in his fourth season, guided the Statesmen to a fourth-place finish at last year's Heart of America Athletic Conference Championship and has several returners back on the course.
Honorable-mention all-Heart performer Andrew Miller (Jr., Le Claire, Iowa, Exercise Science) will headline the crew after posting a season-best 8K time of 25:31.2 a year ago.
Flanking him will be Carson Springer (Jr., Grimes, Iowa, Business Management) (top time of 26:49.4), Jordan Davis (Sr., Loomis, Calif., Political Science) (27:59), and Sutton Shively (Fr., Bloomfield, Iowa, Mechanical Engineering) (28:10).
Drake is excited about his incoming class, led by Brady McWhirter (Fr., Fairfield, Iowa, Sports Management) and Wualfret Morales (Fr., Ottumwa, Iowa, Physical Education).
Several others are expected to also vie for a spot among the top seven spots.
Schedule/Conference
William Penn opens the fall Friday in Pella at the Central Invitational. The team is slated for five regular-season meets before taking on league competition at the Heart Championship on November 8 in Cedar Rapids.
