WPU Earns Numerous ACUI Academic Achievement Honors

Oskaloosa--The William Penn shotgun sports team had strong representation in the scholarly ranks as the ACUI announced its Academic Achievement award recipients.

A total of 14 Statesmen collected the honor, including perfect 4.00 Grade Point Averages from the quartet of Nikolle Kussatz (So., Leighton, Iowa, Biology), Hayden Lund (Fr., Beaverdam, Wis., Sports Management), Tanner Muff (Jr., Lincoln, Neb., Public Accounting), and Emily Uitermarkt (Sr., Otley, Iowa, Elementary Education).

Brianna Thompson (So., Campbellsport, Wis., Psychology) was right behind the crew at 3.99, while Nathan Roberts (So., Eddyville, Iowa, Mechanical Engineering) and Emily Sjoberg (Sr., Otley, Iowa, Undecided) were at 3.97.  Trenton Giese (Fr., Muskego, Wis., Mechanical Engineering) was near the top as well at 3.96.

Connor Gittings (Sr., Kansas City, Mo., Biology) and Wyatt Kresser (So., Independence, Iowa, Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management) were both at 3.80, while Lane Arrowood (Sr., Newton, Iowa, Biology) (3.74) and Colton Heintz-Kuderer (Sr., Mabel, Minn., Biology) (3.70) also eclipsed the 3.7 mark.

Addison McGehearty (Fr., Mount Pleasant, Iowa, Undecided) (3.64) and Hunter Block (Grad., Eldridge, Iowa, Master's of Organizational Leadership) (3.59) met the criteria as well.

To be recognized, student-athletes must own at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA.
