Radliff on First Team, Meyers Earns Honorable Mention
Oskaloosa--The Statesmen women's bowling team had two individuals selected to the all-Heart of America Athletic Conference teams last weekend.
Caitlin Radliff (Sr., Belleville, Illinois, Software Engineering) was named a selection to the five-person first team. Sammantha Meyers (Sr., Rockford, Illinois, Elementary Education) was one of the five bowlers who were awarded an honorable mention. An additional five individuals were chosen for the second squad.
Radliff is now a four-time all-conference honoree, having earned first-team laurels in 2023 as well. Meyers has now picked up two awards, after earning first-team recognition last year.
WPU, which placed fourth at the Heart Championship last Saturday and Sunday, headlined its season by taking first place at the NAIA West Open earlier this month. The navy and gold earned seven top-five finishes throughout their competitions.
Radliff has the highest average of the Statesmen squad with 195.8 pins (34 games), including a high score of 255. She placed in the top 10 once and in the top 25 twice.
Meyers holds an average of 187.2 pins in 38 games, with a season high of 256 pins. She also had four top-25 finishes.
Andy Diercks of Mount Mercy was named Coach of the Year, while Brooke Salzman of Mount Mercy was named Player of the Year. Newcomer of the Year was awarded to McKenzie Mattice, also of Mount Mercy. The Rookie of the Year laurel was given to Missouri Baptist's Amber Lymenstull.
