Four Receive NAIA Scholar-Athlete Accolades

Oskaloosa--A total of four Statesmen women's bowlers were honored for their excellence in the classroom as they were named 2025-2026 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

Brianna Thompson (Jr., Campbellsport, Wis., Psychology and Sociology) leads the navy and gold athletes with a 3.99 Grade Point Average entering this spring.

Lucy Mitchell (Jr., Poulsbo, Wash., Psychology and Human Services) is next at 3.88, while Macyn Huston (So., Durant, Iowa, Elementary Education) follows behind at 3.84.

Hannalee Songer (So., Ottumwa, Iowa, Accounting) (3.51) also finds her way onto the list.

Mitchell is now a two-time honoree, while Thompson, Huston, and Songer are honored for the first time.

To be eligible for the award, athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale, have attended the nominating institution for one full year prior to nomination, and must appear on the sport's eligibility paperwork.
