Franco Notches POW Honor to Start Senior Campaign

Oskaloosa--Gabriana Franco (Sr., Tracy, Calif., Exercise Science) used a first-place finish to garner the Heart of America Athletic Conference Women's Golfer of the Week award Monday.

Franco, who is now a six-time recipient, guided the Statesmen to a victory at the season-opening Missouri Valley Invitational last Monday and Tuesday.

The senior carded a three-round score of 229 with rounds of 79-73-77. She recorded three birdies in the win.

For the year, Franco owns a 76.3 stroke average over the three rounds.

The honor is the first of the year for WPU.
