Franco Wins Final Heart Golfer of the Week Laurel of 2025-2026

Oskaloosa--Gabriana Franco (Sr., Tracy, Calif., Exercise Science) closed out her final regular season with one more weekly honor as she was named Heart of America Athletic Conference Women's Golfer of the Week Monday.

The senior notched her eighth career accolade (third this season) after guiding William Penn to a second-place finish at the Missouri Valley Invitational last Monday and Tuesday.

Franco topped the 36-player field at the Invitational with a 54-hole score of 240 (82-72-86).  Her even-par round of 72 on Monday was headlined by four birdies.  The individual medalist honor is her second of the year (six in her career).

For the year, Franco owns an 80.9 stroke average (21 rounds) with seven rounds in the 70s (low of 72).  She has six top-10 finishes during 2025-2026.

The honor is the third of the season for WPU.
