WPU Drops Road Outing with Pioneers

Olathe, Kan.--The Statesmen women's soccer team came up short in Saturday's matchup against MidAmerica Nazarene, losing 7-0 in Heart of America Athletic Conference play.

William Penn (2-8-1, 2-5-1 Heart), which was outshot 16-2 by the Pioneers (9-2, 6-1 Heart), permitted the game's first goal in the opening minute of action.

The goal opened up the floodgates as the Pioneers found the net four more times prior to halftime.

WPU, which was held without a shot on goal Saturday, was unable to get anything going to make up ground, while MNU added two more tallies in the span of seven minutes to put the game fully out of reach.

Abi Moers (Jr., Evergreen, Colo., Undecided) and Livia Silva (Jr., Rio de Janiero, Brazil. Undecided) both attempted one shot, while Madeline Danielson (So., La Crescent, Minn., Exercise Science) tallied three saves in the loss.

Next Up: William Penn travels to Mediapolis next Tuesday to face Iowa Wesleyan in non-conference action at 7:30 p.m.
