Fayette, Mo.--William Penn women's volleyball team traveled to Central Methodist Saturday and was saddled with a 3-0 setback in Heart of America Athletic Conference action.
WPU (13-6, 3-1 Heart), which lost by scores of 21-25, 25-19, 22-25, was outhit by CMU (9-3, 1-1 Heart) .219-.098.
While William Penn kept every set close, it unfortunately had no answers for the Eagles, dropping its first conference matchup of the season.
Hailee Pesek (So., New Hampton, Iowa, Nursing) and Alix Robinson (Fr., Pontiac, Ill., Political Science and History) led the Statesmen attack with six kills apiece.
Kaya Caprini (Sr., Minneapolis, Minn., Psychology and Human Services) headlined the defense with 12 digs, while Maju Vieira (Jr., Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Business Management) and Mia Brady (Sr., Pontiac, Ill., Exercise Science) chipped in seven.
Brady also added 15 assists and two aces to her totals.
