WPU Swept by Missouri Baptist at Home

Oskaloosa-- William Penn University failed to claim the WPU Family Weekend victory as it fell to Missouri Baptist 3-0 in Heart of America Athletic Conference action on Saturday. 

The Statesmen (13-9, 3-4 Heart) fell by scores of 17-25, 21-25, 19-25, while being outhit .200-.056 by Missouri Baptist (14-3, 6-1 Heart). 

Missouri Baptist opened set one with a 7-1 lead and never looked back, as the Spartans held the advantage for the remainder of the match.

Emma Hynick (Sr., Monticello, Iowa, Human Services) led the Statesmen offense with eight kills, followed by Abigail Mitchell (Jr., Oxford, Ala., Nursing) and Emilie Bojorquez-McFadden (Jr., Surprise, Ariz., Biology) with seven apiece, while Haliee Pesek (So., New Hampton, Iowa, Nursing) added six.

Kaya Caprini (Sr., Minneapolis, Minn., Psychology and Human Services) led the defense with 18 digs, while Courtney McWilliams (Fr., Rockton, Ill., Nursing) and Maddy Gustafson (So., Marion, Iowa, Psychology and Human Services) chipped in eight each.

Mia Brady (Sr., Pontiac, Ill., Exercise Science) directed the attack with 17 assists.
