Quartet Garner CSC Academic All-District Awards

Oskaloosa--Four members of the William Penn women's volleyball team were honored for strong 2025 seasons in and out of the classroom as they earned academic all-district honors from College Sports Communicators.

Maddy Gustafson (So., Marion, Iowa, Psychology and Human Services) paced the crew with a 3.98 Grade Point Average.

Hailee Pesek (So., New Hampton, Iowa, Nursing) was right behind her teammate at 3.92, while Kaya Caprini (Sr., Minneapolis, Minn., Psychology) (3.62) and Khiani Jackson (Sr., St. Joseph, Mo., Psychology) (3.50) also met the criteria.

Caprini closed out her career as a two-time recipient, while Gustafson, Jackson, and Pesek all earned their first accolade.

Gustafson tallied 147 digs, 27 aces, and 16 assists this fall, while Pesek managed 191 kills (.171 attack pct.), 62 digs, and 39 blocks.

Jackson concluded 2025 with 199 kills (.229 attack rate), 78 blocks, and 35 digs, while Caprini recorded 522 digs (4.28 per set) with 99 assists and 24 aces.

The crew led WPU to a 17-16 overall record, including a 7-11 mark in the Heart of America Athletic Conference.

The award combines both athletic and academic achievements.  To be eligible for the award, individuals must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have been enrolled at the nominating institution for one year (transfers use grades from their previous institution), and have a 3.50 Grade Point Average.  Additionally, individuals must compete in 90% of games or start in at least 66% of games.
