Statesmen Complete 2023 with Soldier Salute

Coralville--The William Penn women's wrestling team concluded the 2023 calendar year by sending a small group onto the mat last weekend at the Soldier Salute.

143-pounder Naida Abdijanovic (So., St. Louis, Mo., Biology) guided the navy and gold with a pair of wins, while 123-pounder Brittany Cotter (Jr., Katy, Texas, Nursing) netted one victory.

Next Up: William Penn travels to Cedar Falls Friday and Saturday to compete in the NWCA National Duals.  WPU will be the #8 seed and will face #9 seed Cumberlands (Ky.) Friday at 10 a.m. in the opening round of the double-elimination tournament.
