Three Statesmen Earn Victories at Grand View Open
Des Moines-- The William Penn women's wrestling team competed at the Grand View Open on Saturday, with three Statesmen picking up victories in the tournament.
The tournament was split into two divisions: Silver and Gold.
Two Statesmen collected two victories apiece in the Gold Division. 110-pounder Teya Garner (Jr., San Antonio, Texas, Exercise Science) recorded two pinfalls in under 35 seconds, while 131-pounder Bronwyn Brenneman (Sr., Parnell, Iowa, Biology) earned wins by technical fall and decision.
In the Silver Division, Naomi Templeman (Fr., Dallas Center, Iowa, Mechanical Engineering) was the lone Statesman to place and earn a victory. Templeman finished 4–3 on the day, recording two technical falls, one pinfall, and one decision en route to a sixth-place finish.
